Step 1 : Add in the image I choose to use as background of the wallpaper

Step 2 : To create the wordings, I use different size, color & angle of font with different layers. After that, I adjust the blending options with turn on the drop shadow, outer glow and bevel and emboss. After that I choose angled strokes to modify the wordings..^^

Step 3 : Next, I combined my wordings,mmu logos with the layer but because I don't wish to see the background so I adjust the layer and put the background layer above of my wordings layer & mmu logos layers. After that, I also adjust the capacity of the background layer so that I can see the text and logos.

Step 4 : Use elliptical marquee tool to crop the image and it'll be ellipse shape at the end

Step 5 : After that, I just combined every picture and add text that can promote FOM courses and also with FOM contact number and date,time & venue. At the end, put stroke effect in blending options to edit the wording that represent FOM characteristics

Step 6 : After that, I choose to use the MMU bee to be the presenter & show when & where. So I use custom tools to drag a conversation box and adjust the color and size for balancing of the whole poster.

Step 7 : To create a effect of those images I snap & been cropped in ellipse shape, I use filter--->stylize-->tiles to create a pretty nice effect. After that, I use two different types of brushes to paint the text.

Description

These assignment is to wish us can promote our own faculty's open day & of course my faculty is FOM..So I searched for FOM courses to make audience getting clearer to our faculty's courses and snap some images related to FOM so can attract them because FOM have a nice & comfortable environment because the building is new and was finished build on 2008. So to promote the open day, I believe that date is the most important aspect so I create the banner to show the FOM open day and along the date. So, I wish people who saw my job can get my message that I'm promoting for MMU FOM open day on 21st March 2009.

tutorial 5~

Step 1 : Using lasso tools to draw a flame shape & fliter it using gaussian blur with 1.2 pixels.

Step 2 : After fill the flame shape with white color, then using paint brush tools to painting around the outside of the shapes. After select the flame, turn off the visibility of background & leave the flame layer then goto edit & select " define brush preset" and save the "flame shape" as a new brush.

Step 3 : After that, use again the paint brush tools but is using the new brush that is the flame shape that been saved just now. Paint around on the yoga man's hand using different size of paint brush. After that, select red & yellow & create a rectangle by using rectangle marquee tool

Step 4 : For the next step, press Ctrl+l to adjust the darkness & brightness of the color of the fire.

Step 5 : To create a mask to the fire flame that I had painted just now on the yoga man's hand, select the final flame layer which color layer was selected and click ctrl+shift+i and press delete. After that, goto fliter and choose liquify to bring some effect to the fire flame. I had choosed turbulence tools end click the mouse and move around to create effect on the flames.

Step 6 : To copy the fire to the right hand, a very simple step that is select the flames & press alt & move. It'll create a copy of the fire flame. Goto transform & flip horizontal so that the flames become opposite of the 1st one and doesn't look weird on the right hand.

Step 7 : Again bring some effect to the flame, I choose pucker tool to create a different effect for the flame.

Step 8 : After that, using lasso tools to draw a smoke shape then fill in white color to the smoke and goto gaussian blur and using 10pixels to make the smoke looks blur.

Step 9 : After adjust the darkness and brightness of the smoke, I had choosed linear burn for the smoke the using eraser tool to clean up those "smoke" that I think should be erase because the smoke was on the yoga man's face.

Step 10 : After edit the smoke, I think that want to create a ice effect so I choose one of the style that I been used in last tutorial and paint around the yoga man. Because I want to make ice, fire together. XD Using the same technique, after paint around, double click on the blending options and turn on " blend interior effects as group " and adjust the capacity until ice effect appears.

In this tutorial, I had learned how to create water texture & ice texture...Besides, I also learned to create effect for wordings such as drop shadow,inner glow & how to adjust the angle to looks better effect.

Click on the wording layer then choose gradient overlay to put gradient in the text..So,I choose 2 different color of BLUE.

Next, apply "inner shadow","drop shadow","outer glow" & "bevel and emboss"...apply it once by once with apply different capacity,distance & size to bring different effect to the text.. After applying those effect, the word have a different look compare to the beginning.

After choose the green channel & duplicate the channel, goto filter-->blur-->gaussian blur and adjust the pixels to make the background have a little bit blur effect.

Next, press ctrl+l to pop out the level windows and adjust the input levels for the brightness & darkness of the background.

Change the two ink split with different color by click on their own layer on the gradient overlay after that save one of the ink split on the style windows by click & drag on the windows and save it~Then next, use rectangle tool to create a brand new layer which name as "shape 1" then create a layer mask & only select the layer mask and using paint brush tools to color it.

Actually after color the surrounding, it become red color that I been saved before in the style windows but now to create an ice texture, so click on either one effect been applied before and turn on the "blend interior effects as group" and adjust capacity of the advanced blending. Choose the capacity until the color part can success give the ice effect~

So I capture some picture from FOM building that I think can put in the wallpaper to attract students come to MMU FOM open day~ sure?? hahahhaa
But actually FOM doesn't have a lot thing to represent..I can't even found the signboard in FOM except 1 dirty cloth wrote "FOM"...how lousy is FOM..hahahha

Project Objective

To create a digital wallpaper that is related to my faculty that is FOM and the requirement also ask to promote the MMU FOM open day that been dated on March 21st ,2009.So, I need to create a wallpaper with FOM building, MMU FOM open day 2009 & briefly introduce the courses under FOM.

Approach

To finish my assignment 2, I will be using Adobe Photoshop CS3 to create it by using the tools i had been learned in the tutorial video clip such as crop images using magnetic lasso tool,adjustment for the new layer,layering, filtering & masking too. The size for the wallpaper is A4 size and madam had reminded me it's using RGB mode this time since we no need to print out the output Actually I had tried searched for MMU_FOM building in search engine but I can't even get the picture so to create the wallpaper, I need to snap the picture by myself just with my hand phone camera because I don't have a digital camera. So, I'll show my steps to create the digital wallpaper soon in my blog.

tutorial 3~

Started my tutorial 3 by select the "invisible" wordings and create a brand new layer and then fill up the wordings with white color by click ctrl + delete.

Second, go to the channel windows to create a new alpha channel. Using 2px to slightly draw lines between the wordings and change the weight to 6px to brings more effect to the wordings.

Next, press ctrl+ + l to get the level windows to adjust the input levels and use gaussian blur to create blurry effect to the wordings

Lastly, adjust the blending modes to create a effect that the wordings really is on top of the wall.

my final postcard but actually it's not the actual postcard & this is the postcard I created before using RGB color. I don't know what had happened until I cant upload the CMYK postcard because when I upload the color will turns to strange..

Description : to create this postcard, I used adobe photoshop CS3 and apply effects and tools that I have been learned through the video clip. The tools I had been used is magnetic lasso tools, new layer adjustment, effects for my wordings and adjustment of capacity. The image I been used I search on web and the idea I get from is Internet postcard that I researched by self. Actually I also gain the idea when visiting eyes on Malacca and there have a lot of tourists so I think eyes on Malaysia can attract tourists even that eyes on Malaysia already moved to Malacca. I want to shows Malaysia is a multicultural and peaceful country and have lots of delicious food so that it can achieved the requirement that can attract tourist to visit Malaysia.

Steps : Used more on magnetic lasso tools to crop image & drag into the background image and also adjust the capacity and put some effects on wordings. Lastly, apply new adjustment to adjust the contrast and brightness of the output.

Choose eyes on Malaysia to be my postcard's background.

Using magnetic lasso tools to crop the part that I really don't need it and grab the images into my background to "decorate" my new postcard

The multicultural girls been put inside the background and going to put visit Malaysia logo top of the postcard and well,this time I was lucky because I had found the logo that been cropped.

Again,using magnetic lasso tools to cut off the part I don't need it and left the satay and ketupat.

Combination of three things that I choose to put up to my new postcard and the empty space I left before is want to create a border effect by using rectangel tools to draw it.

I'm using Malaysia flag to decorate the sky and I just adjust the arrangement of the layers that the flag actually is on layer 5 ( above layer 4) but I'm going to hide it so I move the layer below layer 1 so the flag can "hide" behind my postcard background.

And now, I add the wordings as " Malaysia, Truly Asia" and I had add some effects to my wordings by add in drop shadow,outer glow and choose gradients effect but with color. Next, I use the wrap text tools to edit the text for create a "shape text" that looks pretty than the normal one. I had choose arch and edit the bend to get a effect for the Malaysia looks bigger than other wordings.

Lastly, I choose the layer adjustment to adjust the contrast & brightness for my postcard. I had put more contrast on my postcard and reduce the brightness so that it looks better.

Project Objective:

Students are to create a multi-cultural event for a post card. The theme would be “Malaysia, Truly Asia” which is the official slogan for Malaysia Tourism. Students are to show the multi-cultural aspects of Malaysia culture or life as a positive feature to attract tourist into this country.

Approach:

To create the postcard, I'm using Adobe Photoshop CS3 to create it by using the tools i had been learned in the tutorial video clip such as drag images,crop images,magnetic lasso tool,adjust the new layer & more.

Actually I have a lot of images that I had been searched from google & yahoo. So I'm still considering which to use. But now,i have KLCC, fireworks and multicultural images and etc. So,I'll choose the best & the most suitable images to create the postcard.

In the process to create postcard,I'll use effects more such as gaussian blur and lens flare to makes the postcard looks more realistic. Besides, I'll use text tools which is wrap text to create text on the postcard and edit the text until it get a better look from using normal text tools.

I have the idea to create the postcard when I went to malacca last saturday. I saw the eyes on malacca so it's quite suitable & attractive. and I also ask idea from my friends and they did agreed with my idea and I decided to add up some multicultural images. Hence, I had made lots of research from internet by search those layouts that is suit for those images that I decide to put inside my brand new postcard.

Roles and Responsibilities:

To create the postcard,I had spent lots of time to do research on Malaysia,Truly Asia to create a brand new & attractive postcard that can attract tourist come to Malaysia. I also edit all the images and redo again & again until the images suitable put in the new postcard. I also resposible to print it put and summit the assignments before this coming friday.

Actually, I'm not good enough using photoshop and this's my 1st time using it. So i have to spend more time to explore all the tools and I guess I understand the printing requirements so I just need to spend more time to do the postcard and pretty lack of idea but will try my best to do the best postcard that I can.

finally finished my tut 2
but actually i can post my blog earlier than this
because i had did wrong tut by using wrong picture
i thought we suppose follow the picture that been using in the video clip but actually not!!!
but nevermind,because i can learn more about techniques of coloring and converting mode and create new fill in the new layer especially using the hue/saturation.
how great this sem i'm learning photoshop.

step 1,add a new layer & change the mode from normal to colour.
then i use the paint brush tool & choose purple color to color the car,and also using left right square to adjust the paint brush size

step 2,using the same techniques color the jeans to grey color by using grayscale slider

step 3,again change the shirt from red color to green color and edit the color of the file she holding too.

what i had learned in this tut is the techniques of coloring using paint brush and also the create new fill in the new layer especially using the hue/saturation.coloring makes the picture perfect.

“SAVE BEFORE EXTINCTION” is to give human being a awareness that because of their self-seeking and they had polluted our sea that becomes water pollution in our world. Hence, it had caused dolphins been poisoned living in the sea which full of toxic. It will brings extinction of dolphins if they do not stop their selfishness. And nowadays, dolphins are rare in our world. "STOP pollute the water" is to warn self-seeking human being to stop polluted our sea and they can't “pay” for those rare dolphins' life because there are rarity. Once lost will not return again. This idea i gain is i think that dolphins is belongs to nature that is our world and water pollution will one aspect of global warming so I had choosed sea & dolphins to start and end of my assignments.

1. follow the reference's layout to arrange the position of my dolphins by copy paste from my assignment 2.

2. color the background with gradient 230' angle to make the sea looks realistic from bright to deep. * top to bottom*

3. add up my statement to shows the message to others that save the extinction because i believe that water pollution is the main reason cause dolphins become rare and warn them to stop otherwise extinction will happened.

4. add up the garbage and symbol bottom of the poster. those garbage is represent that the sea had been polluted by human by throwing chemical tank into sea and the water is full of toxic & chemical now that may cause dolphins become rare because of death. color again the background for the poster shows bottom had been polluted and very dirty.

5. drawing sign of toxic to paste on the tank shows the tank is full of chemical & toxic.

6. add up the sign board to add the message for stop the pollution..

The title of the illustration : dolphin’s world

actually,im still use the same tools to create the symbol
to draw the ellipse,im use the ellipse tools
and for the dolphins shape im use pen and pathfinder to finished the shape
and for the colors part~im use gradient all the way
for the circle that actually represent sea
i had used 5colors of blue and i had adjust the angle to 30' because i want to create a light blue to dark blue effect to represent natural sea color.
and for the "dolphins shape",i had used dark grey and white and adjust the angle to 280' and 100' because dolphins color is actually grey on top and white at below of the body so i had success make it after do few research..
at the last, im also use "drop shadow" effect to make the graphics look more real because having a shadow is it looks real than do not have shadow??haha
hmm....i had choosed to draw the dolphin shape because doplhins are minarity and they are facing extinction too.So i hope to represent that we should protect animals especially those are facing extinction.

for the sketch,im just using the most simple tools..to draw the circle,im using ellipse tool to draw it.for the dolphins,i just use pen tool to click and drag,actually i had tried again and again to use the pen tools.but it's still failure because madam ling said there is too many point and ask me to cut down.after finished drawing,i start color the dolphins by using gradient and adjust angle for a better gradient.and same with the the sea.just a normal sea color.beside thats,i also use drop shadow effect on the dolphins and sea to looks real because have shadow.haha..at the last,i click on the ellipse and go object,click arrange and send to back.just few tools i had used in assignment one.and hope in assignment 2,i can do better.

meaning of the sketches

the ellipse shape means that sea that actually had been polluted by human being day by day and occur global warming. and blue color means that our environment actually is very beutiful and clean.it's bring clear and peaceful to our world.

and the dolphins is the animals that only left few schools.because of the pollution,the amount decrease year by year and all the dolphins again facing extinction and the grey and white color bring us the meaning of sadness.our world nowadays only between black and white.

This is my new idea that actually come from sir ken...because while he's comment on my 1st skecth,he told me that i can modify the hand turn to be shark or fish......so i decide to draw dolphins.... my sketches.......UGLY right?....because have no drawing skill.....

today was the 1st tut for my mcg1014 class
my tutor name is Madam Ling
she is such a kind & friendly tutor
she told us that if we work hard,sure we can get A for our tut & assignment
she also advise us to learn what is "draw" actually
so i'll try the best to score A and learn what is "DRAW"
