Since summition for assignment 2 is around the corner
so i need to do a project carter to arrange my plan to finish the assignment
well, I need to create a digital wallpaper as my assignment 2
follow the requirement, I need to create a wallpaper that promote my faculty that is FOM & its' open day~

Project Objective

To create a digital wallpaper that is related to my faculty that is FOM and the requirement also ask to promote the MMU FOM open day that been dated on March 21st ,2009.So, I need to create a wallpaper with FOM building, MMU FOM open day 2009 & briefly introduce the courses under FOM.

Approach

To finish my assignment 2, I will be using Adobe Photoshop CS3 to create it by using the tools i had been learned in the tutorial video clip such as crop images using magnetic lasso tool,adjustment for the new layer,layering, filtering & masking too. The size for the wallpaper is A4 size and madam had reminded me it's using RGB mode this time since we no need to print out the output Actually I had tried searched for MMU_FOM building in search engine but I can't even get the picture so to create the wallpaper, I need to snap the picture by myself just with my hand phone camera because I don't have a digital camera. So, I'll show my steps to create the digital wallpaper soon in my blog.

Roles and Responsibilities

9/12/08 – I'll start my snap for FOM building for find the best & suitable images to represent as my wallpaper background.
10/12/08 – learn more techniques to create the wallpaper and put more effect that Photoshop CS3 can support.
14/12/08 – Start design my digital wallpaper .
23/12/08 – Final output can be summit & done everything in my blog too

Learning more techniques & effect so can create a good wallpaper. Need to be more creative & survey more on what a wallpaper looks like with a suitable & nice layout..

tutorial 3~

Started my tutorial 3 by select the "invisible" wordings and create a brand new layer and then fill up the wordings with white color by click ctrl + delete.


Second, go to the channel windows to create a new alpha channel. Using 2px to slightly draw lines between the wordings and change the weight to 6px to brings more effect to the wordings.



Next, press ctrl+ + l to get the level windows to adjust the input levels and use gaussian blur to create blurry effect to the wordings


Lastly, adjust the blending modes to create a effect that the wordings really is on top of the wall.

my final postcard but actually it's not the actual postcard & this is the postcard I created before using RGB color. I don't know what had happened until I cant upload the CMYK postcard because when I upload the color will turns to strange..

Description : to create this postcard, I used adobe photoshop CS3 and apply effects and tools that I have been learned through the video clip. The tools I had been used is magnetic lasso tools, new layer adjustment, effects for my wordings and adjustment of capacity. The image I been used I search on web and the idea I get from is Internet postcard that I researched by self. Actually I also gain the idea when visiting eyes on Malacca and there have a lot of tourists so I think eyes on Malaysia can attract tourists even that eyes on Malaysia already moved to Malacca. I want to shows Malaysia is a multicultural and peaceful country and have lots of delicious food so that it can achieved the requirement that can attract tourist to visit Malaysia.

Steps : Used more on magnetic lasso tools to crop image & drag into the background image and also adjust the capacity and put some effects on wordings. Lastly, apply new adjustment to adjust the contrast and brightness of the output.

Choose eyes on Malaysia to be my postcard's background.

Using magnetic lasso tools to crop the part that I really don't need it and grab the images into my background to "decorate" my new postcard


The multicultural girls been put inside the background and going to put visit Malaysia logo top of the postcard and well,this time I was lucky because I had found the logo that been cropped.

Again,using magnetic lasso tools to cut off the part I don't need it and left the satay and ketupat.


Combination of three things that I choose to put up to my new postcard and the empty space I left before is want to create a border effect by using rectangel tools to draw it.

I'm using Malaysia flag to decorate the sky and I just adjust the arrangement of the layers that the flag actually is on layer 5 ( above layer 4) but I'm going to hide it so I move the layer below layer 1 so the flag can "hide" behind my postcard background.

And now, I add the wordings as " Malaysia, Truly Asia" and I had add some effects to my wordings by add in drop shadow,outer glow and choose gradients effect but with color. Next, I use the wrap text tools to edit the text for create a "shape text" that looks pretty than the normal one. I had choose arch and edit the bend to get a effect for the Malaysia looks bigger than other wordings.

Lastly, I choose the layer adjustment to adjust the contrast & brightness for my postcard. I had put more contrast on my postcard and reduce the brightness so that it looks better.

Project Objective:

Students are to create a multi-cultural event for a post card. The theme would be “Malaysia, Truly Asia” which is the official slogan for Malaysia Tourism. Students are to show the multi-cultural aspects of Malaysia culture or life as a positive feature to attract tourist into this country.

Approach:

To create the postcard, I'm using Adobe Photoshop CS3 to create it by using the tools i had been learned in the tutorial video clip such as drag images,crop images,magnetic lasso tool,adjust the new layer & more.

Actually I have a lot of images that I had been searched from google & yahoo. So I'm still considering which to use. But now,i have KLCC, fireworks and multicultural images and etc. So,I'll choose the best & the most suitable images to create the postcard.

In the process to create postcard,I'll use effects more such as gaussian blur and lens flare to makes the postcard looks more realistic. Besides, I'll use text tools which is wrap text to create text on the postcard and edit the text until it get a better look from using normal text tools.

I have the idea to create the postcard when I went to malacca last saturday. I saw the eyes on malacca so it's quite suitable & attractive. and I also ask idea from my friends and they did agreed with my idea and I decided to add up some multicultural images. Hence, I had made lots of research from internet by search those layouts that is suit for those images that I decide to put inside my brand new postcard.

Roles and Responsibilities:

To create the postcard,I had spent lots of time to do research on Malaysia,Truly Asia to create a brand new & attractive postcard that can attract tourist come to Malaysia. I also edit all the images and redo again & again until the images suitable put in the new postcard. I also resposible to print it put and summit the assignments before this coming friday.

Comment:

Actually, I'm not good enough using photoshop and this's my 1st time using it. So i have to spend more time to explore all the tools and I guess I understand the printing requirements so I just need to spend more time to do the postcard and pretty lack of idea but will try my best to do the best postcard that I can.

tutorial 2

finally finished my tut 2
but actually i can post my blog earlier than this
because i had did wrong tut by using wrong picture
i thought we suppose follow the picture that been using in the video clip but actually not!!!
but nevermind,because i can learn more about techniques of coloring and converting mode and create new fill in the new layer especially using the hue/saturation.
how great this sem i'm learning photoshop.

step 1,add a new layer & change the mode from normal to colour.
then i use the paint brush tool & choose purple color to color the car,and also using left right square to adjust the paint brush size

step 2,using the same techniques color the jeans to grey color by using grayscale slider

step 3,again change the shirt from red color to green color and edit the color of the file she holding too.

what i had learned in this tut is the techniques of coloring using paint brush and also the create new fill in the new layer especially using the hue/saturation.coloring makes the picture perfect.
