the process of create a symbol & the meaning of the symbol

actually,im still use the same tools to create the symbol
to draw the ellipse,im use the ellipse tools
and for the dolphins shape im use pen and pathfinder to finished the shape
and for the colors part~im use gradient all the way
for the circle that actually represent sea
i had used 5colors of blue and i had adjust the angle to 30' because i want to create a light blue to dark blue effect to represent natural sea color.
and for the "dolphins shape",i had used dark grey and white and adjust the angle to 280' and 100' because dolphins color is actually grey on top and white at below of the body so i had success make it after do few research..
at the last, im also use "drop shadow" effect to make the graphics look more real because having a shadow is it looks real than do not have shadow??haha
hmm....i had choosed to draw the dolphin shape because doplhins are minarity and they are facing extinction too.So i hope to represent that we should protect animals especially those are facing extinction.

after attended week6 tutorial class,i had gained some comments from mdm ling.
mdm asked me to change da exact dolphin to a dolphin shape...
and improve my colors~
so i had redo & redraw my symbol again
this is my new symbol

process of sketches

for the sketch,im just using the most simple tools..to draw the circle,im using ellipse tool to draw it.for the dolphins,i just use pen tool to click and drag,actually i had tried again and again to use the pen tools.but it's still failure because madam ling said there is too many point and ask me to cut down.after finished drawing,i start color the dolphins by using gradient and adjust angle for a better gradient.and same with the the sea.just a normal sea color.beside thats,i also use drop shadow effect on the dolphins and sea to looks real because have shadow.haha..at the last,i click on the ellipse and go object,click arrange and send to back.just few tools i had used in assignment one.and hope in assignment 2,i can do better.

meaning of the sketches

the ellipse shape means that sea that actually had been polluted by human being day by day and occur global warming. and blue color means that our environment actually is very beutiful and clean.it's bring clear and peaceful to our world.

and the dolphins is the animals that only left few schools.because of the pollution,the amount decrease year by year and all the dolphins again facing extinction and the grey and white color bring us the meaning of sadness.our world nowadays only between black and white.

assignment 1

This is my new idea that actually come from sir ken...because while he's comment on my 1st skecth,he told me that i can modify the hand turn to be shark or fish......so i decide to draw dolphins.... my sketches.......UGLY right?....because have no drawing skill.....

And today.....presentation for the assignment 1.....get a lot of comments from madam ling....
